The Plainfield Fire Protection District is governed by an elected Board of Trustees and supported by additional boards responsible for hiring, pension administration, and community programs. All boards operate under Illinois law and conduct their business in public meetings.

Board of Trustees
The elected governing body of the Plainfield Fire Protection District. Trustees oversee the District's budget, policies, ordinances, tax levy, and strategic direction.

Open to the public
Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees are held at the Plainfield Fire Protection District Headquarters, 23748 W 135th St, Plainfield, IL 60544, in the board room at 11:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.
Meeting agendas and minutes are posted in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act. Special meetings are announced publicly as required by law.
