Installed system inspection reporting

Fire protection systems — sprinklers, fire alarms, standpipes, kitchen suppression hoods, and more — are required to be inspected, tested, and maintained on a regular schedule. These inspections keep life-safety systems operational and are required by the International Fire Code and referenced NFPA standards.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District uses The Compliance Engine (TCE) by Brycer to manage all inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) reporting. Service providers submit reports through TCE, and the platform automatically tracks compliance, flags deficiencies, and notifies property owners and the Bureau when corrective action is needed.

Submit Reports via The Compliance Engine

All fire protection system ITM reports must be submitted electronically through The Compliance Engine. PFPD does not accept paper or emailed reports. Service providers must register with TCE before submitting.

Property owners & service providers

For Property Owners

You are responsible for ensuring your building's fire protection systems are inspected, tested, and maintained at the intervals required by code. You select your own licensed contractor — PFPD does not assign one.

Once your property is registered in The Compliance Engine, you'll receive automated notifications when inspections are due or deficiencies are found. You can create a free account on TCE to monitor your property's compliance status at any time.

System impairments and deficiencies identified during inspections must be corrected promptly. Failure to maintain systems in operational condition may result in a code enforcement action by the Fire Prevention Bureau.

For Service Providers & Contractors

All licensed fire protection contractors performing ITM work within PFPD's jurisdiction must register with The Compliance Engine and submit reports electronically. Paper, email, and fax submissions are not accepted.

Report deadlines: Compliant system reports must be uploaded within 30 days of the inspection date. System impairments must be reported immediately. Deficiency correction reports are due within 30 days of the repair.

TCE charges a per-system filing fee to the submitting contractor. Registration, training, and onboarding support are provided by Brycer at no cost.
