EMS Department
PFPD Firefighter/Paramedics deliver Advanced Life Support emergency medical care from four stations, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — responding to over 5,600 calls annually across the District's 54-square-mile service area.
Advanced life support for every patient
Every frontline member of the Plainfield Fire Protection District is a licensed Firefighter/Paramedic, trained to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency medical care. From cardiac emergencies and strokes to trauma and pediatric calls, our crews deliver ALS-level assessment and intervention on every response.
EMS accounts for the majority of the District's call volume. Our paramedics carry cardiac monitors, advanced airway equipment, a full medication formulary, and 12-lead ECG capability — transmitting real-time data to receiving hospitals so treatment begins before the patient arrives.
