Fire Prevention Bureau
The Bureau reviews construction plans, issues permits, inspects occupancies, and educates the community to keep residents, businesses, and responders safe across all PFPD stations.
Code enforcement & community safety
The Plainfield Fire Protection District Fire Prevention Bureau exists to reduce the loss of life and property from fire. We maintain a continuing inspection and plan-review program, enforce adopted fire and life-safety codes, and deliver public education programs to the residents and businesses we serve.
The Bureau reviews plans and issues permits for fire-related construction and activities, inspects sites for fire-lane and access compliance, responds to fire-safety complaints, and works with developers and occupants to bring properties into compliance with current codes — supporting the District’s overall ISO Public Protection Classification.
